Magazine Portrait Photography: Marissa

I had the opportunity to do some magazine work this week at Chico State University for the study abroad program. I spent the afternoon with Marissa, a student from Japan. She is going to be featured in an article. Marissa is very sweet and I look forward to sharing the article with you, when it is published!

Ready to Go!

Sorry about my absence in blogging -- it has been a busy two weeks! I spent the past week in Tijuana, Mexico with 138 students and adults building homes. It was a lot of hard work and believe me, my body is still recovering.

I am back to work this week and excited about what lies ahead. I began teaching a photography elective course to middle school students this week. As I stood in front of the eager students, I realized even more how much I love this art! Please, if you have time, check out my website and read about my passion for photography. I realize that God has given me this business to serve others and create beauty. I love that!

My application for senior reps will come out in the next week. I am really hoping to get a handful of students who love photography and will work hard to represent my work. If you are interested, please email me!

Wedding season will be here before I know it. As I look ahead to the summer months, I will be very busy. I am capturing weddings both in Portland and Chico, so I foresee a crazy, but amazing adventure this summer!

If you are in Portland and hoping to book a photo session, I will be available for one weekend in June, July and two weeks in August. Please email me soon, so that I can give you the dates and get this on my calendar.

For now, here is a photo from our campsite in Mexico. We partnered with AMOR ministries to build the homes. I am so glad that I went on this trip!

Family Portrait Photography: Whitlock Family

Here is the beautiful Whitlock Family! What a treat to work with this family last Saturday. As many of you know, I love capturing little kids, and these children were great! This was my first photo session in Chico and I was a little nervous as I am unfamiliar with a lot of the landscape. It turns out that Chico has some great spots and these people were so adaptable and photogenic. It definitely made me hope for a lot more opportunities to get behind the camera here in Chico. Thanks Whitlock Family!

Child Portrait Photography: David Turns One!

We spent Saturday afternoon at David's birthday party -- we called it the "Mini March Madness"! I documented some of David eating his first birthday cupcake -- what a great celebration. Thanks for letting us be a part of this fun day!

And here are a couple photos of David and his cute Mom, Carolyn! She is in the first trimester of pregnancy number two and I just love the little bump that is starting to show :)

Family Portrait Photography: Whitlock Family Tease...

Here is just a tease of some work that I did today. What a cute baby, who was happy the entire session -- and the rest of the family was just as wonderful! More to come soon!

Portrait Photography: Kenny and Danny

Well, I am settling into Chico and learning a lot about this little city.
Last week, Kenny asked me to take a few photos for his new student ministries website. Here are a couple photos -- Danny is the worship leader for the youth ministry, and by now, you all know who my husband is! I love him!

Something Tasty...

Something that I always enjoy is a good pastry! Well, about six years ago my Dad introduced me to a Starbucks pastry -- the Maple Oat Pecan Scone. Let me tell you -- amazing! Sadly, I could never find it, anywhere. Two weeks ago, I walked into Starbucks here in Chico and guess what -- Maple Oat Pecan Scones! So last week, my taste buds were delighted! Just another great reason for you to come visit me in Chico -- and if you do, I might just buy you a scone!
