Engagement Portrait Photography: Ryan and Bridget

We had a great time with Ryan and Bridget last weekend -- what a sweet couple!
Bridget and Ryan both love the outdoors and last Saturday's weather gave us a great opportunity to spend some time in the Gorge. Here's a look at our time together -- I am so blessed to do what I do. People like this, make my job an incredible adventure.

Family Portrait Photography: My Amazing Brother!

I love this guy! My older brother is an incredible man and I am so proud of him. He is a great husband, a Dad of two little cuties and just among the best men I have ever met! I snapped this photo while we were in Arizona for Christmas! It is now one of my favorites!

Self Portrait Photography... A Day Without Rain

Sometimes in Oregon -- we have to celebrate the days without rain!
I begged Kenny for some "practice time" today behind the camera. We found this rustic little alley and went to work. Below you will see some photos that we took at the end... Just gotta let loose every once in awhile -- as you can see, Kenny jumps a lot higher than me (but hey, you gotta give me some credit, after all, I was in heels) :)

The Best of 2009...

As I turn the corner into a new year, I think it is appropriate to look at some of my favorite work and reflect on the past year. I have learned so much and I am so grateful for all of the experiences and people that have enriched my life this year.
I have learned that failing is a good thing -- it gives me perspective and keeps me humble. I have learned that a good photo does not require technical perfection, rather a good photo should tell a story. I have learned that I am much harder on myself than anyone else. I have learned to laugh a lot -- loosen up -- and wait for the moments, don't just try to create them. I have learned the joy in gratitude.
What a rich year, full of learning and experiences. I am so grateful to all of you who follow my work and support me. I am looking forward to serving you in this coming year. I am honored that you would consider me worthy to tell a bit of your story. Here's to 2009 and more to come in 2010!

These two cowboys (brothers) are among some of the greatest and bittersweet memories of my photographic journey in 2009.

Senior Portraits bring out a very creative and energetic side of my photography! You just have to get those teenagers to let out their wild side!

Capturing beautiful moments inspire me -- that is why I capture weddings (and the before engagement sessions)... It is the unexpected moments that often leave me speechless.
